Abstract
Minutes, application forms, and reports of the West Virginia University Social Committee document the process of scheduling
and hosting social events at the university between 1956 and 1966. Minutes and reports discuss obtaining permission for social
events (includes blank application and information about requesting locations and dates; chaperones; event titles; associated
costs; and more) and for women to attend men's parties; the schedule for social events; inappropriate names for social events;
rules and regulations for social events; campus fraternities; complaints from event organizers about cost and scheduling;
problems with chaperones; working with other campus social organizations; and the duties of the social committee and the chairman.
