Account books of farms, including the United States Department of Agriculture Soil Conservation Cooperative Agreements for those farms, dated 1935-1937. The farms are located in the towns of Moundsville, Cameron, McMechen, and other Marshall County locations. The USDA's Soil conversation efforts were mandated by several federal laws passed in 1935 and 1936 in response both to the dangers erosion posed to American agriculture and to the financial hardships faced by farmers during the Great Depression. This collection is minimally processed.
