Abstract
Miscellaneous materials, chiefly photocopies, related to the history of Helvetia, West Virginia, a community founded by Swiss and German settlers that is known for maintaining Swiss traditions and folkways. Items include an undated handwritten narrative history of Helvetia's founders; genealogical information about the founding families of the town, including birth and death dates; a typed genealogy of the Gustavus Senhauser family from 1825 to 1979; and a 1982 newspaper article about one man's visit to Helvetia. Collection also contains photocopies of German newspaper articles about Helvetia from 1939, 1946, and 1957.
