law in West Virginia in the early twentieth century. Topics include mine wars at Cabin-Paint Creek, 1912-1913; the West Virginia
National Guard, 1917-1918; the labor movement, Matewan, 1920-1921; and martial law in Mingo County in the early 1920s.
