Scope and Content

This telegram, July 21, 1861, was sent by William M. Blackford in Lynchburg, Virginia , to his brother-in-law, John Minor of Fredericksburg, Virginia , informing him of the condition of certain family members following the "First Battle of Manassas . " He relates that William, Charles, and Eugene were all in the battle but were unhurt.
