These papers were an archival transfer to the Special Collections Department, University of Virginia Library, on May 21, 2004.

Scope and Content

This collection consists of information files about University of Virginia faculty and administration staff, ca. 14,760 items (19 Hollinger boxes, ca. 8 linear feet), chiefly ca. 1946-1986. It varies considerably in the quantity and quality of information about the individuals listed. In all cases, the dates of hiring and promotion are given. Other information may include birth and death dates, degrees, positions held, publications and biographical information.

Arrangement

The University of Virginia Faculty and Staff Information File is arranged alphabetically by name of faculty or staff in three series by institution name: Series I: Mary Washington College (Box 1); Series II: Branch Colleges (Boxes 1-3); and, Series III: University of Virginia (Boxes 4-19)
