Scope and Content

This collection contains a bound volume of accounts, 1871-1872, of various persons with Michel, Vaughan, Luck Company , a Charlottesville area grocery and business owned by John Michel , James Vaughan , and unidentified partner [ ] Luck. Also included are records, 1860-1863, and drafts or copies of letters, May 1865-February 1866, of a real estate agent in London, England , identified as J. Michel of 87 Chancery Lane. The last letter, February 7, 1866, states that its writer's ill health has caused him to turn to others to carry on his business.
