These post cards were transferred from the Rare Books Division to the Manuscripts Division of Special Collections on June 24, 1996. They had originally been given to Rare Books by Michael L. Perma.
This collection consists of twenty-five propaganda post cards concerning the various groups participating in the Spanish Civil War, 1936-1939. These include post cards representing the following groups or ideas:
Brigadas Internacionales - International Brigades, Communist Party
Camperols - Peasants, propaganda for agrarian reform
C.N.T. - Confederacion Nacional del Trabajo (National Labor Confederation, Anarcho-syndicalist Union)
Jefatura de Sanidad Del Ejercito - Chief of Sanitation of the Army
Junta de Burgos - seat of Falangist government in 1936, north of Madrid
Junta Delegada de Defensa De Madrid & General Jose Miaja (Madrid Defense Junta)
P.S.U.C. - Partido Socialista Unificado de Cataluna (Unified Socialist Party of Catalonia, from 1936)
S.R.I. - Socorro Rojo Internacional
U.G.T. - Union General de Trabajadores (General Workers' Union, founded in 1888 by two Socialist leaders, Mora and Garcia Quejido)
