B. F. Johnson Letter, 1889, Accession #11288, Special Collections Dept., University of Virginia Library, Charlottesville, Va.
This letter was purchased by the University of Virginia Library from Heartwood Books, Charlottesville, Virginia, on January 27, 1997.
This collection consists of a printed [mimeograph?] letter, April 6, 1889, from B.F. Johnson & Co., Publishers, Richmond, Virginia, to D.C. Graham, Clover Creek, Virginia, advertising the opportunity of becoming an agent of the company to sell copies of a religious book entitled The Beautiful Story. The letter assures the potential salesman, "We are entering upon an era of good times. If you realize that, and take hold with us, you can enter upon the most profitable business of you life. The boom for agents is here."
