Hogsett Family Ledger and Papers, 1852-1888, Accession #11297, Special Collections Dept., University of Virginia Library, Charlottesville, Va.
These materials were purchased by the University of Virginia Library from Heartwood Books of Charlottesville, Virginia, on February 17, 1997.
This collection consists of a single bound ledger containing various accounts involving grain, lumber, repairs, and miscellaneous merchandise, ca. 1850-1888, probably belonging to David G. Hogsett. It also contains loose papers, ca. forty items, 1852-1888, and undated, all formerly enclosed within the ledger, pertaining to members of the Hogsett family, Augusta County, Virginia, including: accounts, articles of agreement, a memoranda book, a suit between Isabella Hogsett and William E. Hogsett, deeds, and receipts.
