John Strode Barbour (1790-1855), was a United States Congressman from Virginia from 1823 to 1833.

Letter, dated September 10, 1839, from American statesman and Virginia politician John Strode Barbour (1790-1855), Culpeper, Virginia, to Hon. Luke E. Lawless, Thomas H[art] Benton, and Leslie F. Linn, St. Louis, Missouri, introducing Richard Johnson Tutt of Culpeper County, who wishes to settle in Missouri. Barbour strongly praises Tutt's unimpeachable character, intelligence, and trustworthy nature; and, he requests that they make him known in their part of the state.
