Scope and Content Information

In this letter, January 22, 1865, Lt. Colonel John F. Terry, 37th Virginia Infantry, Post Headquarters, Bristol, Tennessee, writes attesting to the traveling difficulties of Major H[enry] C[linton] Wood, 37th Virginia Infantry, caused by an enemy raid on the Virginia and Tennessee Railroad. He goes on to state that he had performed good service in Scott County, Virginia, while being separated from his regiment by circumstances beyond his control.
