This letter was presented to the Library on May 27, 1993, by Jerry Showalter, Ivy, Virginia, as a gift in honor of the retirement of Mildred Abraham in the Rare Books Division of the University of Virginia Library.
This letter is from the English novelist and mother of Anthony Trollope, Frances (Milton) Trollope (1780-1863) while in [Florence, Italy?], September 17, 1854, inviting "Monsieur Gould" to dinner on the next day if he is still in Florence.
