This letter, February 16, 1853, from Isaac N. Sullivan, Federicksburg, Virginia, to "Dear Palmer," refers to recent elections, the free school system, and the death of Mayor R.B. Semple. Sullivan discusses Semple's efforts to get a railroad for the area and tribute paid to him. He also indicates that he often thinks his old friend, Palmer, and wishes him to visit.
