This is a letter from John Crowe Ransom, in Gambier, Ohio, to "Dear Mrs. Lund," sending a list of his best students, "those who went on and established themselves as literary men," which include Donald Davidson, Allen Tate, Robert Penn Warren, Peter Taylor, and Robie Macauley.
