This collection was purchased by the Library from Timothy H. Bakken of Halvor Americana in Clarendon Hills, Illinois on June 12, 1990.
There are fifteen letters, 1925-1946, from various peace officers in Virginia localities including Suffolk, Hopewell, Charlottesville, Richmond, Norfolk, and Newport News to Smith and Wesson Company in Springfield, Massachusetts concerning information, maintenance, special orders, and complaints about firearms, specifically revolvers, manufactured by the company.
