Scope and Content Information

This manuscript diary, 1852-1880, by Georgina Frances Barrett Devlin of Yazoo City, Mississippi, was written in ink in a bound 128-page volume, of which only a few are blank.

Of special historical interest are the entries for the Civil War years, including a February 7, 1864 account of Black troops and of fighting near Yazoo City in February - December, 1864.
