Photographs of Virginia, ca. 1915, Accession # 10780, Special Collections Dept., University of Virginia Library, Charlottesville, Va.
The Virginia photographs were purchased by the Library from Clifford Krainik, Krainik Gallery, Falls Church, Virginia, on August 18, 1988.
This collection consists of thirty-six original silver-print photographs of Virginia, ca. 1915, removed from the Keystone Stereoscopic View Company sample book.
These include photographs of the waterfront at Norfolk, Virginia, facing northwest toward Newport News up the James River; a view overlooking the harbor at Norfolk with Berkeley on the left and Portsmouth on the right; the wharf at Portsmouth, Virginia; timber cutting in the Dismal Swamp area; the railroad depot in Richmond, Virginia; the river front of Richmond and its tobacco warehouses; the business center of Richmond; and the Capitol Building and City Hall of Richmond.
