Daily Mail Official War Postcards, 1916, in the Joseph M. Bruccoli Great War Collection, Accession #10875-z, Special Collections Dept., University of Virginia Library, Charlottesville, Va.
The album was given to the University of Virginia by Matthew J. Bruccoli, Bruccoli Clark Layman, Inc., Columbia, South Carolina, on August 9, 1994.
This addition to the Joseph M. Bruccoli Great War Collection consists of one " Daily Mail Official War Post Card Album," ca. 1916-1919, containing about 175 post card scenes, from the Great War both black & white and in color, including battle scenes, personalities, and events, particularly the visit of King George V of England to the front. Many of the post cards in the album are duplicates. The album has a bookplate of a former owner, Joseph Symonds Hooker, on the inside cover.
