Libertarian Party Papers, 1979-1984, Accession # 10187-p, Special Collections Dept., University of Virginia Library, Charlottesville, Va.

Acquisition Information

This accession was given to the library by Mr. David Nolan of Denver, Colorado, on October 26, 1983.

Scope and Content Information

This accession consists of ten items, 1979-1984, three letters and seven printed or near-print items pertaining to the Libertarian party. The letters, written by David Nolan, one of the founders of the Libertarian Party, and by Murray N. Rothbard, mainly concern criticism of the 1980 Ed Clark presidential campaign and an East/West split in the party at the 1983 presidential nominating convention. Included in the collection are "Clark President: A Campaign Critique," by David Nolan and "Present at the Creation," an interview with Nolan in Against the Wall, September, 1981. Printed material from the tenth anniversary convention of the Libertarian Party in 1981 completes the accession.
