This letter was purchased by the Library from Heritage Book Shop in Los Angeles, California, on June 16, 1997.
This is an autograph letter, September 27, 1930, from Dame Edith Sitwell, London, England, to [Irving Fineman] (1893- ), Chez Madame Bowen, Paris, France. She discusses literary matters, relating that she is looking forward to reading his first novel [ This Pure Young Man ], is having her Collected Poems mailed to him through her publishers, and discusses some of her own poetry, including "Gold Coast Customs," "Your Elegies," and "Metamorphosis." She also discusses a woman named "Stella" and her troubles; the party held on the last night of his visit, where she had a lengthy talk with a Russian historian; finding another Ted Lewis record for her Persian cat; and, comments made on her latest novel by Percy Wyndham Lewis and [William Butler] Yeats.
