Scope and Content

This addition to the Papers of the American Rhododendron Society consists of copies of correspondence between Joseph Gable (1886-1972) and Guy Nearing (1890-? ), 1930-1952, (ca. 400 items, 1 Hollinger box) concerning rhododendrons, a small portion of which was published in Hybrids and Hybridizers .

Also included is a group of rhododendron rating questionnaires sent out in 1964 by P. J. Sholomskas of the Philadelphia Chapter of the American Rhododendron Society to some of the then best known growers of rhododendrons in the Eastern United States .
