Richard Doddridge Blackmore to Joseph Knight

[Apologizes for his delay in answering Knight's letter due to illness, assures him that he would indeed like to see the American edition of Lorna Doone and asks him to send it by Scribner's & Company , New York, to Low, Marston and Company , of London, thereby escaping the "worry of custom-house officials." Blackmore also says about the American edition of Lorna Doone , "It is, as you suggest, a source of much pleasant thought to me that this book has [procured ?] me to many good friends in America, and seems likely (at least for some years) to preserve its popularity."]
