[thanks the correspondent for "your light and tripping lines, I wish that the subject were worthy of them. The book [ Fringilla ], however will be rather pretty -according to present taste, which is relapsing to the horn-book type. The illustrations are not altogether according to my liking, i.e. the main batch by Louis Fairfax Muckley -the last three by James Linton are more of my instigation. My friend Arthur Joseph Munby was here the other day. He is kind enough to be pleased with `P & G' -my last tale."]
