Acquisition Information

This collection was given to the Library on July 18, 1986, by Warren Chappell of Charlottesville, Virginia. An additional letter was placed in this collection by Mr. Chappell on September 24, 1986.

Scope and Content Information

The Roy King collection consists of eight items, 1935-1986, a photograph album containing photographs of some of King's major sculptures, the resume of Roy Ellwood King (1903-1986), a letter from King to Warren Chappell, June 25, 1986, describing his career as an artist, another letter, September 19, 1986, from Nora King to the Chappells relating King's death, three photographs of Roy King, his wife, Nora King, and their son, Paul King, and a newsclipping about King's sculptures in Hawaii.
