These photographs were given to the Library on April 26, 1989, by Mr. Warren Chappell, Charlottesville, Virginia.
This collection consists of ten negatives and copies of the original photographs of the Chappell family, with genealogical information supplied by Warren Chappell, including a photograph of the Chappell family home at 2112 East Clay Street, Richmond, Virginia.
Individuals in the photographs include: Warren Chappell in his studio (n.d.); Samuel Chappell (1850); Eliza Buckner Chappell (ca. 1840-1845); Samuel Chappell and John Taylor Chappell (1861); John Taylor Chappell in a "C.S.A. Cavalry Uniform" (1863); and John Taylor Chappell and Martha Virginia (Scherer) Chappell (1864).
