This collection was given to the Library on January 19, 1971.
Hearst explains exposure of bribery concerning New York City mayor, W. J. Gaynor, and Daniel Cohalan, a Tammany politician; discusses editorial responsibilities to print the truth; and writes a letter persuading an employee not to leave.
The correspondents include the Editor of the "Nebraska State Journal" and an employee named Davenport.
Explains his "exposure" of public monies being diverted from Mayor W. J. Gaynor of New York to Tammany politician Daniel Cohalan. States his convictions re responsibility of editors to tell the truth.
Beseeches employee not to leave the Journal . Urges frank discussion of problem; will explain why certain decisions were made.
