In a letter, 1937 February 26, J. H. Gipson, Caldwell, Idaho, writes to Col. N. N. Wallack, Washington, D. C., enclosing an autographed copy of Vardis Fisher's pamphlet "Tours in Eastern Idaho" and relating Fisher's objections to signing because "his manuscript was butchered by the Washington office."
In correspondence, 1941 March 31-April 4, Fisher and Harry Mielke, Milwaukee, Wisconsin, discuss Fisher's reluctance to autograph the latter's copy of In Tragic Life .
Collection also contains a Houghton-Mifflin press release for Toilers of the Hills .
Enclosing the pamphlet "Tours in Eastern Idaho" autographed by Vardis Fisher and encouraging him to recommend Fisher's books to his friends.
Explaining why he must refuse an autograph request
Writing in answer to Fisher's refusal and presenting himself as his "most ardent and loyal collector," with AN at bottom from Fisher, telling him to send along the book, In Tragic Life , for his autograph since he feels so strongly about it.
