This collection was given as a gift on 1989 March 27.
This collection includes a manuscript (TMs, 14 p.) of a diary, 1935-1943, of Alice Elizabeth Davis Tibbetts depicting her relationship with Edgar Lee Masters, including anecdotes and photographs of them as well as Theodore Dreiser, Arthur Davison Ficke, Percy MacKaye, and Aloysius Michael Sullivan. Also included is a copy of Masters' poem "Emerson's Grave" dated October 11, 1941, and a block of the U. S. stamp honoring Masters issued August 22, 1970.
It also includes a printed "Memoir of the Occasion Celebrating Percy MacKaye's 70th Birthday on the Evening of Friday March 16, 1945," with an inscription to Alice [Elizabeth Davis Tibbetts] by MacKaye, with accompanying papers which include the seating arrangement of guests, dedications fo Marion Morse MacKaye, and a printed version of Edgar Lee Masters' poem "The Hotel Chelsea" dated August 7, 1936.
