Letters from Joseph Hergesheimer to W. H. Loudermilk & Co., Accession #7702-d, Special Collections Dept., University of Virginia Library, Charlottesville, Va.
This collection was purchased on October 19, 1993.
These letters of Joseph Hergesheimer to Mr. Jones of the Washington, D.C., bookselling firm of W. H. Loudermilk & Co. discuss books from Hergesheimer's personal library that the firm is selling for him.
Informs Jones of the five parcels of books he has sent to the firm to sell or trade since he has no room for anything other than a reference library at his present residence.
alerts Jones that he is sending ten cartons of books and to be alert for strays; and promises to send a small collection of fine arts books when he has finished with the subject in his present work, probably about February.
Sends fifty-two current but hard-to-come-by books to be sold by Jones, some imprinted, mentioning a small edition of Lesbia Brandon by Algernon Charles Swinburne of possible interest for Swinburne collectors, and promising to be along now that the Cosmos Club's renovation is complete.
Sends along forty-seven books in good condition to be sold for him.
