Letter from Julian Hawthorne to Alexander Strahan, Accession #7694-e, Special Collections Dept., University of Virginia Library, Charlottesville, Va.
This collection was purchased on 1989 April 19.
In this letter, 1878 January 21, Julian Hawthorne writes to [Alexander] Strahan and pleads with Strahan to pay the loan and insurance that day, assures him that his security is good as he has just sold a story to Mr. Frantz Hueffer, editor of The New Quarterly , for the next issue, and offers to send a promissory note for forty pounds.
