The collection contains the manuscript of a poem "The Obliterated Door."
In addition, in letters to Mrs. A.M. Collins, Sigourney extends her sympathy for a recent affliction, thanks her for flowers and a book, explains the writing of the above poem, and inquires about a literary society rule. In an undated letter to a Mrs. Talcott she extends an invitation.

Offers her condolences for Mrs. Collins recent afflicition and regrets that her influenza prevents a personal visit at this time of trouble.
Thanks her for her gift of flowers and a book and sends a book to Mrs. Collins as a gift.
Acknowledges her gift of flowers, expresses her pleasure at the prospect of having Mrs. Collins' former faithful assistant in her own family, and explains the circumstances behind the writing of the poem, "The Obliterated Door," which she had sent to her friend Mrs. Collins.
Asks if the Literary Society meeting at Mrs. Collins' home allowed the use of books in translation for discussion on the behalf of another woman, Mary.
Renews her former invitation to visit her and meet Mr. and Mrs. Dixon.
