This holding was purchased on December 17, 1963 and deposited on January 12, 1971.

Scope and Content Information

In this letter to E[dwin] D[enison] Morgan,Prosper Montgomery Wetmore commends the zeal of Lieutenant Downey in recruiting a company for the Harris Cavalry; asks Morgan, governor of New York, to help Downey keep his commission; assures him that he has observed Morgan personally; and apologizes for the letter's hastiness.
