Papers of Annie F. Johnston, Accession # 7024, Special Collections Dept., University of Virginia Library, Charlottesville, Va.
This item was purchased on 2 January 1963.
In this letter, 1908 July 10, from Annie Fellows Johnston to Miss Louise J. Gaffney of Page & Co., Boston [with envelope}, Johnston lists problems that have kept her from reading two books sent by Gaffney. Thanks for help with juvenile correspondence. Constant anxiety about her ill son, John, keeps her from completing her books Mary Ware and Good Times Book. John's "indomitable spirit" suggested the entire story, The Jester's Sword . Mentions a Mrs. Lee and other invalids who were "at the ranch."
