Wentworth Higginson Letter, Accession # 6968-j, Special Collections Dept., University of Virginia Library, Charlottesville, Va.
This item was purchased from David J. Holmes Autographs on 31 October 1991.
This collection contains a letter from Thomas Wentworth Higginson to "My Dear Sir" [R.D. Blackmore?]. Higginson has read and enjoyed his vigorous and graceful translation of Virgil, and will happily show it to Mr. Fields; will show it also to Mr. Brooks, who agreed with Higginson in disliking Bryant's translation of Homer.
