This collection consists of a letter to J. Wingate [Thurston?] from Upham, who explains the friendship between Edmund Randolph and Timothy Pickering, mentioning Randolph's comment on Pickering's popularity, and discusses Pickering and Wingate family history.
The collection also contains a print of Charles Wentworth Upham by F. T. Stuart.
Upham replies to a letter and explains the friendship between Edmund Randolph and Timothy Pickering. Mentions including a comment by Randolph about Pickering in something (his book about Pickering ?) as an example of the esteen in which Pickering was held even by his political opponents. Also discusses Pickering and Wingate family history mentioning; Mary Wingate, and Mary (Lunt) Wingate.
