In this letter Charles Gayler, Williamsburgh, New York, writes to William Winter, New York Tribune , thanking him for the "just and more than kind" critique of his play Fritz and assuring him that he has "never felt aggrieved by an honest expression of intelligent opinion..." He also asks about his health and expresses his friendship.
