In this letter to "Mr. Marshall," Irving Bacheller mentions his lecture activities and a fire in April which destroyed his house and scrapbooks. He also states that he is glad that the recipient liked The Light in the Clearing; a Tale of the North Country in the Time of Silas Wright .
