The letters contain personal news and sympathy for the death of Mrs. Jayne's husband, and thank her for a memorial pamphlet.
Glasgow expresses her deep sorrow for the death of Jayne's husband, and says how he was dear to everyone.
Glasgow sends Jayne "a word of deep and tender sympathy" over the death of Jayne's husband, saying that she has thought of Jayne often, and mentions her own beloved sister and how much she cared for both of the Jaynes.
