In a letter to Messrs. Hilliard, Gray and Co., Charles Wentworth Upham proposes, on behalf of Harriet Martineau, collecting and republishing her anonymous writings; in a third letter to R.G. [Beardslee?] Upham responds to his invitation to address the Young Men's Association of Albany, and mentions a throat problem.
C. W. U. to Messrs. Hilliard, Gray and Co. Proposes, on author's behalf, collecting and republishing Harriet Martineau's anonymous writings; recommends two or three volumes with comments by Martineau, an autobiographical statement, a portrait, and other illustrations. Refers indirectly to William Hilliard and Harrison Gray.
C. W. U. to R. G. Beardslee. Responds to R. G. Beardslee's invitation to address the Young Men's Association of Albany; postpones decision until closer to the lecture season; mentions a recurring throat problem.
