These financial documents were loaned to the University of Virginia Library by Professor David McCord Wright, Charlottesville, Virginia, on August 31, 1953.
This collection consists of fifty documents, 1812 January to July, concerning the financial affairs of Great Britain and printed by order of the House of Commons, including one copy of "An Act for permitting certain Goods imported into Great Britain, to be secured in Warehouse without Payment of Duty," printed by George Eyre and Andrew Strahan, 1810.
These documents include accounts of charges upon the Civil List Revenues; His Majesty's Establishment at Windsor; accounts of imports and exports; the number of commercial licenses; taxes; papers relating to the license trade; the charge for ministers at foreign courts; receipts, issues, and exports pertaining to Ireland; an account of stamped dollars and tokens issued by the Bank of England; an account of Exchequer Bills; promissory notes issued in England; cash balances of the Bank of England; bank notes in circulation; accounts related to East India Revenues; permanent and war taxes; the amount of the property tax; sugar imports; the number and tonnage of vessels entering or sailing from the ports of England; and import duties.
