This material was given to the Library by Matthew J. Bruccoli of Columbia, South Carolina, on March 21, 1988.
This additional material, consisting of about twenty-five items, 1974-1976, contains letters, memoranda, and manuscripts concerning the attempted publication of Order My Firing Squad for the Afternoon: The Memoirs, 1915-1929, of W. W. Windstaff , edited by Stephen Longstreet.
Included are the correspondence of Matthew Broccoli and Vernon Sternberg with John M. Davies, F. M. Rogers, W.A.B. Douglas, Peter Butt, Paul S. Leaman, Ray McGuire, Norman Holmes Pearson, George Evans, Ralph Jules Frantz, C.C.H. Cole, James J. Hudson, Charles Worman, and Stephen Longstreet, all pertaining to the authenticity of the memoirs of W.W. Windstaff.
Other papers include part of the manuscript for Order My Firing Squad for the Afternoon and printed combat records for several World War I aviators.
