People's Bank Building, Harrisonburg, Va., Blueprints, Accession #10636, Special Collections, University of Virginia Library, Charlottesville, Va.
The collection was a gift to the Library on February 6, 1987, from Mr. Don Krueger, county engineer of Rockingham County, Harrisonburg, Virginia, through Martha Caldwell, James Madison University.
This collection is comprised of thirty blueprints, 1916 & 1949, of the People's Bank Building in Harrisonburg, Virginia (now the Rockingham County Office Building). The bank was designed by architect Alfred C. Bossom. The blueprints chiefly illustrate full scale details of interior and exterior views of the bank and its structural plans as well as alterations and plans for the entrance vestibule and lobby, cellar plans, the directors' room, a marble drinking fountain, and various grille work in addition to other details.
Also present are blueprints by W. H. Tuttle for 1949 renovations of the building. Tuttle's blueprints include plans for improved banking quarters and consists of various elevation schemes and perspectives.
