Biographical/Historical Information
Francis Fauquier (1703 – 3 March 1768) was a Lieutenant Governor of the colony of Virginia, and served as acting governor from 1758 until his death in 1768.
Scope and Content
Discusses the receipt of a shipment of various articles from his father's estate, including wine; also lists items, including scientific apparatus, not yet received. Sends greet ings to various persons in Williamsburg, including Mrs. Dawson *Elizabeth Dawson, widow of William Dawson, president of the College of William and Mary!.
