Biographical/Historical Information

Francis Fauquier (1703- 3 March 1768) was a Lieutenant Governor of the colony of Virginia, and served as acting governor from 1758 until his death in 1768.

Commissions of Oyer and Terminer of Oyer and Terminer, 1767 February 24, appointing Cornelius Calvert, Maximilian Calvert, Mathew Godfrey, Samuel Hopper, John Hutching, Jr., Joseph Hutching, William Ivey, John P. Mark, John Tatem, Robert Tucker, George Veal, Thomas Veal, and James Webb to serve as justices at a court in Williamsburg, Virginia, to arraign and try the firm {?} of Portsmouth and Glasgow for a felony.
