Biographical/Historical Information
Smith Slaughter was a justice of the peace in Martinsburg, Berkeley County, Virginia, in 1805.
Scope and Content Information
Smith Slaughter of Berkeley County, Virginia, sells his male slave Carolina, to James Graham on 2 April 1791 for 50 pounds. Carolina was formerly the property of Robert Throckmorton and was hired out by Slaughter to Samuel Read. Graham sold Carolina to John Dent on 4 January 1796 for 100 pounds.
