Scope and Content Information
Ledger, 1865-1866, containing the accounts of Brownley and Miller, a general store located in Gloucester County, Virginia. At the front of the ledger, there are cash accounts for money paid to employees and other store expenses. The ledger also contains barter accounts and customer accounts that include the customer's name, the date of the sale, type of transaction or item purchased, and the amount. At the back of the ledger, there are accounts concerning boots and shoes received in the shop. There are 85 blank ledger pages.
