Scope and Content
Account Book and Daybook, 1871 Jan. 3-1872 Dec. 6, records transactions of Fuller and Sloan as they occurred on a daily basis. Information found in each entry includes name of customer, items purchased, quantity of items purchased, cost per item, amount owed, and amount paid. Merchandise sold include clothing, farm tools, spices, dry-goods, hats, dishes, soda, and matches. Payments made by cash, credit, and barter of items such as butter, lumber, bacon, and meal.
