Powhatan County was formed in 1777 from Cumberland County. Part of Chesterfield County was added in 1850.
Scope and Content
Powhatan County (Va.) Deed of Mortgage, Tucker to Tucker's Exrs., 1792. Consists of a deed of mortgage conveying 240 acres of land and three slaves, Quash, Grace, and Ned, from Jesse Tucker to the Executors of William Tucker, for 274 pounds, four shillings, and six pence.
