Gift of Nicole and Todd Ballance, Smithfield, Virginia.

Hopkins and Bro. was a merchant firm in Accomack County, Virginia, operated by R. L. Hopkins (1860-1922) and his brother William E. Hopkins (1854-1903) and then his nephew William E. Hopkins (1880-1936). Hopkins and Bro. sold a wide ranges of goods and products from agricultural implements to fertilizer to lumber to shingles. The company also served as agents for the Baltimore, Chesapeake, and Atlantic Railway in Accomack County.

Business records, 1883-1915, of Hopkins and Bro. of Accomack County, Virginia, consisting of account books, bills of lading, catalogs, circulars, clippings, correspondence, invoices, notes, notices, price lists, receipts, and other documents detailing Hopkins and Bro.'s mercantile business, including as agent for the Baltimore, Chesapeake, and Atlantic Railway.
